Stoneware crocks are very popular when it comes to fermenting the Kombucha Tea, the primary reason for this is because fermenting is the main use for stoneware crocks. Certian crocks are made specifically for this purpose and are called Kombucha Crocks. Our Stoneware Crocks are the perfect utensils for making Kombucha because they are so sturdy, reliable, and they come in a variety of sizes, so they can accommodate however much tea you would like to make in each batch.

There are several different recipes to make Kombucha Tea, but they are all pretty much the same, and they must be followed precisely, if not the tea can turn out to be deadly because of the bacterial cultures. The ingredients for Kombucha Tea include: 2 liters of boiling water, 160 grams white sugar (approx 1 cup), 2 tea bags (black or green tea), 1 herbal tea bag, 1 healthy Kombucha culture, and 1 cup of Kombucha fermented brew (mother tea) as a starter. Materials you will need for making the tea are: one 2 - 4 liters (2 - 4 quarts) pot to boil water, one 2 - 4 liters (2 - 4 quarts) Kombucha stoneware crock, a rubber band, a linen/cotton handkerchief or a paper tissue, and bottles.

The tea goes by many different names such as: kvass, honchajun, hongchagu, chameijun, and kocha kinoko, but the most popular is Kombucha Tea.
